Ship Sunk! Hawks Dash Pirates Playoff Dreams 44-6
The Rockwall-Heath Hawks have turned into one of the hottest teams in Texas after another decisive victory this time over the Wylie Pirates 44-6 at John Clark Stadium in Plano.
The Hawks carved up a 30-0 lead at halftime and never looked back thanks to Jordan Hoy’s second straight dominating performance. Hoy went 6 for 14 in passing and ran for 200 yards and 4 touchdowns. The McCalister brothers also added to the fun while Tyler ran for 117 yards and a score and brother Tanner ran for 8 yards and a score.
The Hawk defense continues to dominate every team thrown at them. The defense registered five sacks on the night.
The Hawks have now won 8 games in a row. The last loss came back against District Champion Poteet on September 25.
The Hawks will advance to the regional semis to take on John Tyler. A time, date and location will not be announced until later this weekend. Stay tuned to Rockwallisd.com for the latest on the matchup against the Lions.
X-FACTOR! Xavier Castille Leads Jackets To Area Round Victory Over Jesuit 48-27
No Chris Warren. No problem!
Xavier Castille took the Jackets on his back and plowed over Jesuit with over 350 yards of offense. Castille had 172 yards of receiving and 2 touchdowns and 135 yards of rushing with 2 touchdowns on the day as the Jackets took revenge on Jesuit the team that eliminated them from the postseason last year by a final of 48-27.
The Jackets trailed again this postseason going into halftime, but as usual they found a way in the second half to pour it on and drive it down the Rangers throat in the second half.
Chris Warren missed the game with a sore ankle, but the rushing load was carried perfectly by Tamba Juanah, Caleb Broach and A.J. Blacknall. All 3 rushed for over 250 yards together and 3 touchdowns.
Luke Termin also caught a 22 yard touchdown pass from Will Reed.
UCF commit and Jesuit Quarterback Bo Schneider had a great day passing with 469 yards and 3 touchdowns, but the Rockwall defense started to figure him out as the game went on and did pick him off 3 times in this game.
The Yellowjackets will face Westfield in Georgetown next Saturday at 2 p.m.
Stay tuned to www.rockwallisd.com/athletics to find out time, date and location of this game.

Hawks Season Ends Against John Tyler 49-21
It wasn’t for a lack of effort by any means. The Rockwall-Heath Hawks left their blood, sweat and tears on the field of McLane Stadium on Friday afternoon, but it just wasn’t enough to overcome the John Tyler offense as the Hawks fell in Round 3 of the 2014 UIL 5A Playoffs eliminating them from the postseason.
The Hawks trailed 21-0 going into the second half, but were led by a furious comeback by Jordan Hoy and the offense. Hoy ran again for over 100 yards (154 on the day) but was unable to get the passing game going only throwing for 54 yards.
Tyler McCallister ran for a touchdown against the Lions. Dean Cline caught a touchdown pass from Jordan Hoy and Chandler Rashbrook ran a 97 yard kickoff return back for a touchdown.
The Hawks last loss came at the hands of Poteet on September 25. The Hawks rode a 8 game winning streak all the way to the end of November.

Mrs. Barnes Awarded “Growing Minds, Growing Communities” Grant
Mrs. Melissa Barnes and her SAGE students were recently awarded a grant titled “Growing Minds, Growing Communities”. They will begin their project in January, 2015.
Have you ever wondered how a city or a community gets started? Well so have we! Together we are going to create our own personal communities while developing our minds as well. Students will complete research on how a community works, runs and is formed. Then they will develop their own community while working in groups as well as partnerships with the various campuses. Students will decide on needs of streets, houses, schools, community helpers, rules, laws etc. They will also take into consideration topographical features as well as weather. Once everything has been decided upon for their new community the students will actually build, video and “pitch” their community to various civic leaders.
