On May 22, the Rockwall High School ASL Club visited the Deaf Action Center (DAC) in Dallas. DAC is a non-profit organization that benefits the Deaf and hard of hearing in the North Texas area. The students took a tour of the facility, learned about the services DAC provides, played games with the Deaf senior citizens and presented a check for $1,570.00. This donation brought the club’s nine year total to $10,000, a year ahead of their projected ten year goal. “These are good kids doing great things in our community and I am thrilled to be able to work with them” said ASL club sponsor Melinda Lewis.
