Artist Burt Fleming carved a Pullen Panther, a Cain Mustang, and a Heath Hawk during a wood carving demonstration for art students at Pullen Elementary . Mr Fleming did 97 carvings at the Texas State Fair this year in the 24 days it was open. His largest carving was a 30 foot alligator, and his smallest was done on the side of a pencil. Mr. Fleming pictured here with Amy Efeney, Pullern art teacher, was born and raised in Mississippi and now lives outside of Baton Rouge, LA. He’s been carving with a chainsaw for 16 years and is self-taught.
