A former Rockwall-Heath quarterback will have a chance to compete for a roll in the NFL. Kevin Rodgers recently of Henderson State signed with the Houston Texans over the weekend. Rodgers, a 2010 graduate of Rockwall-Heath High School, was a second-team all district selection and Academic All-State pick his senior year at Rockwall-Heath after throwing for 2,600 yards and 20 touchdowns.
While at Henderson State, Rodgers was named GAC Male Athlete of the year for 2012-2013 and 2013-2014. He was also the Male Athlete of the Year in 2013-2014.

“It is such a blessing to be able to get an opportunity to play football for a great program like the Houston Texans. They are a top notch organization. I’m looking forward to practice and working with the coaches and players,” Rodgers said.
Rockwall-Heath Head Football Coach Mickey Moss also spoke out about his former quarterback.
“Kevin is an outstanding person, on and off the field. He always sets the example in how you conduct yourself as a young man and what it means to be a great team leader. We are very proud of Kevin and the Hawks are blessed to have such a great young man come from our program,” said Moss.
