Dear Rockwall ISD Parents, Staff and Community Members,
It’s hard to believe that another year of school is almost complete. However, there is still a lot going on at our campuses and throughout our district. I encourage you all to join us on Tuesday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. when we will host an informational meeting regarding how to recognize the signs of depression in students. This event will be held at the Rockwall High School Performing Arts Center located on our Utley campus. We have recently experienced the tragic loss of two of our students and we want to provide resources and information for all of our parents and our community regarding this very important topic. Click here for more information.
In other news, the district has almost completed the budget for the 2013-2014 school year. Board members and district administrators have worked for months to plan our operations budget for the upcoming year. It is expected that our board members will finalize the proposed budget at their meeting on June 17.
I also want to congratulate all of our parents who have seniors graduating this year. Graduation from high school is a wonderful accomplishment and we are so proud of all of our graduates from Rockwall High School, Rockwall-Heath High School and Rockwall Quest Academy. I know this is a special time of year for our graduates and their families and I wish all of our graduates well in their future endeavors.
Please take a moment to read through the stories contained in this newsletter. You will learn about recent administrative changes as well as read about some of the great things happening on our campuses. As we near the last days of school, I want you to know that it is an honor to serve as the superintendent in Rockwall ISD. Thank you for entrusting your children to the district and allowing us to educate your sons and daughters.
Jeff Bailey
