Rockwall ISD is honoring our school counselors as a part of National School Counseling Week which is celebrated February 2 through the 6th.

The Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees will recognize our counselors at their February board meeting on Monday, February16th. The counselors will also be honored and recognized at each of their specific campuses.

Professional school counselors are certified experienced educators with a master’s degree in guidance and counseling. Rockwall ISD counselors are actively engaged in helping students examine their abilities, strengths, interests and talents and focus on positive ways to enhance students’ social/personal, educational and career development. They work in a partnership with parents as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today’s world as well as with teachers to provide an educational system where students can realize their potential.

Rockwall ISD’s counselors are DeAnn Ramirez, Christi Crump, Elizabeth Peters, Vicki Jones, Abby Silva, Deb Harris, Dianne Cockrill, Melissa Shaw, Carol Cruz, Taylor Bell, Lori Allums, Fonn Lee, Kelly Emmerson, Robyn Best, Tandra Calhoun, Liz Hemphill, Melanie Acker, Audra Ingram, Kelli Crawford, Beth Morrison, Kim Gamble, Katie Duran Luke Hurst, Christina Cooper, Kristie Szafranski, Vicky Foster, Kathy Crane, Tressa Marr, Jenny Gagnon, James Jones, Lance Hendrick and Michele Jensen.

National School Counseling Week is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) to focus public attention on the unique contribution of professional school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do.
