Inspired by the short film, ‘Caine’s Arcade’, the Global Cardboard Challenge is an annual event presented by the Imagination Foundation that celebrates child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it. This past September, kids of all ages were invited to build anything they can dream up using cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. Then on Saturday, October 11th, 2014, communities came together to play!
Students from the after school chapter as well as classes of 3rd-6th grade built their cardboard creations during the school day. Students made everything from a house complete with closing windows, pizza and pillows, to a child sized airplane, robot, city by the beach, and basketball goal. Students were highly engaged during this time of creative play.
