All students at Nebbie recently participated in a wonderful cultural experience. Rhythm Path, which is an organization that brings a unique drumming experience to students, brought 125 Diembe drums for the students to play. The drums are from Ghana, West Africa and are made by local artisans. The students were taught many rhythms while sitting concentric drum circles. They were also taught several tribal African chants that they could sing while playing. The event provided team building, stress relief, and a cross cultural experience. Mr. David Cox was the Drum Circle facilitator and is the owner of Rhythm Path. He also brought many other African percussion instruments for the students to play to add to the wonderful African songs and stories.
