District Statement
Rockwall ISD supports and appreciates the work of our law enforcement. This morning the district became aware of a Facebook posting regarding a Williams Middle School student who claimed a staff member said the student’s Back the Blue t-shirt was offensive and should be covered or not worn.
School administrators investigated and could not confirm or substantiate the incident.
Rockwall ISD’s policy prohibits dress that is offensive or disruptive to the learning environment and the district finds the reported t-shirt to not be in violation of the policy.
At no time was the student required to change clothing.
Relationships are important in Rockwall ISD and the district continues to encourage parents to first contact school administrators whenever there is a question about a situation with their child.
