This Socktober the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program students at each high school have accepted the charge from IB to “act locally while thinking globally.”
From now through October 21, each high school’s International Baccalaureate CAS Club is partnering with Limbs International to provide prosthetic legs for people in developing countries. The clubs are selling cool, hip, teenager-friendly socks in packages of 3 pair for $12.
For every package they sell, the clubs will donate a pair of warm socks to a local shelter. This is a particularly needed item as winter approaches. For every 75 packages the clubs sell, they will earn enough profit to provide 1 prosthetic limb to a person in a developing country.
Please visit the fundraising websites below for more information and an opportunity to support your local International Baccalaureate Diploma Program students. If you are unable to support this effort financially, please help us get the word out through social media using the hashtags #JacketsIB, #RHHSIB and #Socktober.
