The second Rockwall ISD Battle of the Books Competition was held at the Administrative Services Building on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Our students did an incredible job of representing their school campus as they competed in this nationally recognized reading incentive program designed to encourage 3rd through 6th grade students to read and have fun while competing with their peers. Every student participant is a “winner” for freely giving their time and commitment to read and study in preparation for the district competition.
Using a single elimination bracket, each campus team competed by rounds until a district winner was announced and the winning team received the grand prize trophy.
Doris Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary won the grand prize for 3rd and 4th grade. The runner up for 3rd and 4th grade is Howard Dobbs Elementary.
Grace Hartman Elementary won the grand prize for 5th and 6th grade. The runner up for 5th and 6th grade is Sharon Shannon Elementary.
