Monday, August 26, marked the official opening of the newest Rockwall ISD school, Billie Stevenson Elementary. As the doors opened, parents and students promptly filtered into the school. Principal Mike Pitcher, Assistant Principal Laurie Branch and other members of the Stevenson Elementary staff happily greeted students and families as they arrived.
As a special treat Stevenson’s namesake, Billie Stevenson, visited numerous classrooms and shared a special greeting during the morning video announcements. “I am so humbled and overjoyed by this experience. It’s just wonderful to be a part of this day with all of these children,” said Mrs. Stevenson.
